Interview with Jack Strify from Official Russian Jack Strify Support [Int.] and JackStrify - Family & Friends Support Schwenningen

1) Are you going to have a break/ to rest for some time?
Jack Strify: All I have are ideas right now. I want to meet up new people and start to work. I need to try new things. That's all I can say.

2) Do you want to be a solo performer or would you prefer to have a band?
Jack Strify: We'll see :)

3) Will/ Would you want to change your style for new ways you will go in the future?
Jack Strify: As you can see I already changed a lot during the last years. But it just happens.

4) Have you already selected any particular style to perform or is it in a process yet?
Jack Strify: I have ideas but I don't know how exactly they will develop.

5) You are getting inspired from some of your favorite musicians. Whose spirit would you take for yourself now, being independent?
Jack Strify: Marilyn Manson, Tim Burton and Prince.

6) Which influences of music would you take for own projects?
Jack Strify: Everything that I love and that I am obsessed with.

7) Can you imagine that you're singing some duets with great stars like Lady Gaga in the future? If you want to do that, which singers/bands would you like to prefer?
Jack Strify: I need to focus on my own sound first.

8) Do you have any aims with your activity, which you want to achieve? Is there any particular point in your career or you consider a creative work to have no limits?
Jack Strify: I just want to sing and create.

9) What is your attitude toward some constructive critique regarding your art?
Jack Strify: Witjout any critique there must be something wrong. People need to love it or hate it. There's no in between.

10) Are you going to dedicate and to be engaged by music only? Don`t you think of any other kind of activity, that you may try in your life?
Jack Strify: I still need to find the love of my life. But well... maybe that's my voice.

11) Would you want to learn an instrument? If yes, which one?
Jack Strify: In a few years I would love to be able to play 50 instruments like Sting. But that's a very very long way to go.

12) The "symbol" which you choose for your new My Space-account (we mean the red circle with your nickname) will you take that for new ways and for own projects or would you change it another time?
Jack Strify: The red circle is just a symbol of an end and of a beginning. People see different things in a goodbye, they see different things in a circle.

13) And in the end of our interview, please say some words about your future music? Your fans are so curiously! ;)
Jack Strify: I have an invitation to come to Moscow in a few weeks.

Hi all...

This week as been one of sadness and on my part rushing around to get everything CB related done and accounted for...before i let this page go idle. And as promised in a previous blog...here is the first download of the CB sheet music that was suppose to be included in the magazine (that is now not happening).

I do believe that there will only be one more download...once i get it uploaded i will make another blog for you. So here is the first...as per-usual MySpace doesn't like links so you will have to copy and paste the link in your browser to download the ZIP file. So i uploaded this first file at two different places...so if one doesn't work...the other should.

It is FASHION WEEK in Berlin.

Personally I think that we still can't catch up with the designer gowns in Paris, Milano, London and New York.
(Karl Lagerfeld would have never gotten that far if he wouldn't have gone to Paris)
In Berlin I'm always missing the decadence of Paris, the passion of Milano, the punk of London and the extravagance of New York.
Still I love Berlin the most because I have my heart here and everyone knows how to have a good time (even without any money in their pockets). Always a little underground - that's the charm of Berlin.
Germans seem to be a little too decent for Haute Couture.

Well, tonight I wasn't at a Haute Couture show. It was the FASHION ROCK NIGHT.

The reason for my post is a comment a nice girl of a German girlgroup made. She didn't intend to offend me. She just didn't know any better.
When I told her, that Cinema Bizarre broke up, she was confused that I still had my style - like I only dressed up for the band.
That seemed kind of stoopid to me but as I already said, she just didn't know any better.

As soon as you are making pop music people tend to think that everything is just made up.
I love pop because it has many faces. I love pop culture because it represents the spirit of our time.
And I am proud to be part of it - with our without mascara.

Style is war. It always was and always will be.

Cinema bizarre separates: exclusive interview with Strify!

While the German band Cinema Bizarre announced January 21 his separation, its charismatic leader, Strify, has agreed to grant an exclusive interview. If the end of the adventure touches, he regrets nothing and already think in the future.

Hi Strify.

Can you explain the reasons for the separation of Cinema Bizarre?

Firstly, it has nothing to do with our drives home. We have really put everything we wanted to say in the press release published yesterday, namely that over the past three years we have travelled all over the world and through that ultimately we've changed a lot.
After the We're all ToyZ Tour we decided to take stock of what would be later. You can see what has been our decision. I cannot really add anything more.

Is that a final decision for Cinema Bizarre?

You know, we did not decide it in one day, it was a very long process and something very complicated to live with for all of us. Each Member of the group is very pleased with the final decision.

What are the emotions that earn you when you return on this adventure?

I remain satisfied for having had the chance to meet these guys and have lived this incredible experience with them. Music has always been and will always be our passion. We have come a long way together and I have always had the habit of keeping links with people awarded in my life.

Do you already have solo projects?

If I said anything on my projects today, I think that someone I would skin tomorrow! I can only say that my head explodes ideas, that I am ready to start a new adventure and that I'm looking for people who work together...

These years were obviously notable to you, what memories remain more memory?

The music remains the most important thing for me. Many fans tell me that they can't believe Cinema Bizarre died. I can only say that the thing that was more important will be always there for them, and this is our music.

Fear the period now opens for you?
A bye can be a good thing if it means a new beginning...

How are you proud of work done with Cinema Bizarre?

Most of our fans are young and I remain very touched and impressed by the influence we had on their style and their way of life. I am really very proud of them and the fact that they are always remained loyal and dedicated.

They have all made possible. Between the early Strify and which turns the page today, that is what has changed?

I have always been a dreamer and an unconditional romantic. I believe that I just started to learn what it costs to grow up. Sing is breathe for me so I think that you'll hear my voice again. But in all cases do not forget the main: "stay bizarre"!

Earlier today Cinema Bizarre made an announcement on myspace. It said that they are taking a break and will stop working under the name, Cinema Bizarre. I'm so sorry guys. I didn't know this was going to happen and I felt awful and have been crying since it was announced.
I will keep this site running to let you know how the guys are getting on. I'm so disapointed that the UK never got a chance to have them here. Hope all the guys are well. Will edit in links once I get my computer back.

- Who is your ideal in your creative work and in common life?

- Strify: I can name lots of people, whom I admire, but I can`t say, that they are famous. These are my closest friends and dear people. People, whom I appreciate most of all.

- With which animal do you associate yourself?

- Kiro: Monkeys, eagles

- Strify: I like dogs.

- Yu:I associate myself only with Phoenix.

- Shin: With giraffe, I think.

- Rom3o:With wolf, because when I am with my friends, I`m always bad boy.

- On stage you use elements of kallanetik, is it coincidence or you have really concerned yourself with kallanetik?

- Strify: What is it?

-This is a dance style.

-Strify: Really? I don`t know about it.

- Kiro: Is it from Russia?

- No, it`s from Europe.

- Kiro: Is it like a tectonic?

- Yes, it is. It came in Russia from Europe. But it was really interesting for us to ask you this question.

- Strify: Oh! (laughing) I really don`t know about it. It Is interesting…

- What can you say about your stage names. Are they just part of your image orthey are part of your life?How do you call each other in your everyday life?

- Strify: From the very beginning I called Yu Yu and Kiro Kiro. Not so long ago we had a photosession and a photographer was very surprised, that we called each other such names. That, what people call stage names are real names for us. We dont wear masks, we are always Cinema Bizarre, we are always the same, and we need names to differ from each other. Kiro always calls me Strify and my mother also calls me Strify.

- What tendency of anime do you like: traditional or untraditional ?

- Strify: What does it mean: traditional or untraditional ( great surprise)

- Traditional is when boys love girls, untraditional is when boys are with boys and girls are with girls.

- Strify ( with more great surprise):I understand, but how is it connected with animals?

- We mean ANIME!

(Everybody is laughing aloud)

- Strify: I didnt catch, I thought that you meant animals, not anime! I prefer traditional anime and manga. Im a big fan of Sailor Moon, Nana.

-Do you watch any anime now?

- Rom3o: Now its difficult to watch, because we are in tour, but I have recordings of my favorite cartoons with me, which I can watch.

- What is more difficult for you during the tour, physical or moral tiredness?

- Strify: Its hard to say, because when we are in tour, lots of things happen: ascents and collapses, but its not bad. Its all right, Thats why I cant call it tiredness.

- What songs of 80s would you like to sing and to make remixes on?

- Strify: hungry eyes

- Rom3o: Space Man

- Strify: No, its already 90s.

- Strify: I`d sing with great pleasure « Grace Johnes». In the beginning of our musical career we made some remakes and even now we have made a remake of «Love Like Blood» by Killing Joke, the group, which opens our shows.

- Would you like to make more tattoo and piercing?

- Yu: Of course. I made and will make a lot of piercing. I pierce something, then take it out, then pierce again. Now I`ve pierced my nose. About tattoo, with time I am ready to make them on all my body.

- Kiro, whats the meaning of both your tattoos ?

- Kiro: Both tattoos mean trust. The trust in yourself, in family, in friends.

- Strify, why did you take off piercing form your lip?

- I wanted something new, something to change in myself. Thats why I am happy that I am what I am .

- Do you often tell lies? Is it acceptably for you such expression like «white lie»?

- Strify: I dont like to tell lies, but Im a good liar. If I tell how often I tell lies, it would be lie. My nose is growing when I tell lies. ( Points at Kiro) And his eyes always turn red. Now you know how often he lies! ( laughing)

- Kiro: Now I always have to wear sunglasses!

- What is your favorite model and brand of the car?

- Kiro: Jaguar, Porsche.

- Yu: Ford Mustang

- Rom3o: Golf, its a very small car for a guy, but like this model.

- Kiro: Polo. I have Polo in Berlin, but now my mother drives it.

- Have you ever watched any series or TV shows?

- Strify: I used to watch sometimes, when I was at school, but its a waste of time for me, but sometimes I need it. Sometimes I like to waste time this way. ( laughing)

- Would you waste your time for it, if you have it?

- Strify: I have no time now. And I wouldnt do it:)

- Did you ever experience the feeling of helpless fury?

- Strify: I think, every person tries it, but everyone tries it in different ways.

- How do you fight against it?

- Strify: When Im terribly angry or when Im very sad, the only way is to scream as loud as you can. It also helps when I am very nervous.

- Rom3o, when did you realize, that CB is your calling?

- Rom3o: I always knew it. I always knew, we ll be together.

- Strify, how do you think, when was the highest point in your career?

- Strify: There are no any specific highest points, sometimes something works well, sometimes bad. But I always value collapses, because we learn our own mistakes.

- Rom3o, you told, that youre vegetarian, what prompted you to it?

- Rom3o( laughing): I tried to be a vegetarian, eat cheese and milk, but when you are in tour, the conditions dont allow to be a vegetarian.

-Whats you biggest weakness?

- Strify: Chocolate

- Kiro: To be angry in the morning.

- Shin, tell us, please, something special, which is connected with your birthday, it will be soon. Where did you celebrate it, for example last year?

- Shin: It was in the restaurant last year. I didn`t celebrate my 18th b-day, because we were than in tour.

We met with guys from CB before their concert in Moscow and learned about everything: about nostalgy, life and death and about the fascination of foreign languages.

Bravo: Not so long ago we talked about your creative work, success and plans for the future. But today I’d like to talk about music on the whole, don’t you mind?
Strify: oh, no, we don’t mind!

Bravo: in comparison with other stage bisons, you are a young group ,which only begins to show its potential. Let’s come back in the beginning: when did you gather together and where did you scoop an inspiration? Which groups can you name as your teachers?
Strify: Honestly, we had no special example for imitation. We just wanted to take instruments in hands and write our own music. Just play, sing, write poems. We all have different tastes in music. We directed our attention to pop-music, to gothic, to classic rock and lots of other music tendency.We like lots of groups and it doesn’t matter, in what style they play.We do that what we want and get great pleasure from it.

Bravo: What about being honest? Were there any groups, which influenced on you more than other ones, for sure? Just imagine, you met these groups backstage of some fest. What would you tell them?
Strify: Mmm…. Perhabs, we would say : “Thanx a lot for everything”. We would put in these simple words all our gratitude.

Bravo: What music are you listening now?
Kiro: TATU!!!

Bravo: WOW!!!

Bravo: So, what music is in your mp3 players now?
Yu: I have a lot of rock music and electronic music.

Bravo: For example?
Yu: Paul van Dyke, The Cascades and lots of others. There are too much music, that I even don’t rememebr all the names.I’m a music lover by my nature. Music styles in my collection are mixed.
Strify: In my Ipod there are David Bowie, Madonna and Placebo, of course.
Rom3o: I like hard music. I have some albums of Killswitch Engage and a couple of groups in this style.Also there some japanese groups: D’espairs Ray, Dir En Grey. I like them very much.

Bravo: Now, let’s get deeper further into history . I remember very well that moment, when in our country thundered a legendary song “Wind of change” by Scorpions…
Kiro: Oh, countrymen!!!

Bravo: Yes. Here, in Russia everyone went crazy with this song and with this group. Personally for me , this group is my childhood. What did you listen to, when you were, for example, 10-12 years old?
Kiro: Oh, that’s a nice question. It’s not easy to recall at once. At that time each of us didn’t find our position of our weakness for music. We listened to everything and at once and tried to realize, what we really liked to listen to most of all. My mother trained me to american music. She often gave me to listen to different groups.
Strify: I was fond of Ace of Base. Do you know them?

Bravo: Of course! I grew up on this group!
Strify: Swedish groups were very popular in our country. At first it was ABBA and then Ace of Base. I don’t know why, but I think, that it was the same in your country.(laughing)
Rom3o: In my childhood I listened to hard and gloomy music. And still listen to it. My childhgood can be called as “ the festival of gothic”. (laughing)

Bravo: Nowadays, in our country and in the whole world german groups are incredibly popular.And it even doesn’t matter, what music they play. How do you think, why?Why exactly German, but not, for example, French?
Strify:Mmmm… Now I even can’t remember some popular French group… Do you know any?(He is asking other members of the group, but they are shrugging their shoulders).I think that nostalgy is guilty of everything. Today we have recalled about “Wind of change” not in vain. Lots of people take care of such memories, coddle them because of their youth. And bit by bit they pay their attention to other german groups in hope to find the same forgotten feeling in the youth. And it seems to me, that German and Russian have the same thinking.

Bravo: If we remember such groups as Rammstein, Tokio Hotel, Lacrimosa, they are all write songs on their mother tongue. Why are your songs in English?
Strify: It’s from school. Once, I just fell in love with English. I constantly wrote something, composed…

Bravo: Have you got poems on German?
Strify: No. It’s much easier for me to express my thoughts in Enlish, don’t know why.

Bravo: Let’s imagine, that know is the year 2040. How is CB running through this year?
Strify: Year 2040?

Bravo: Yes.
Strify: I have no idea! I’m sure, I will die at 27 years old! Many gifted people don’t live to 27! This is a rule! (everybody is laughing).

Bravo: Like “Club 27”?
Strify: Yes!
Kiro: It’s a very interesting, but very complicated question. I want to hope, that by that moment we still will be in good health to give young groups hell.
Rom3o: Please, come to us to take an interview in 2040! Will you come?

Bravo: Yes, sure, at the same place in 30 years!

At the end of this week, November 27th, our new single "My Obsession" will be avaible.
This is the first ballad that we are releasing as a single and it's a very personal song for me, Strify.

Hello my dear friends,

The WE'RE ALL TOYZ Tour this year was an amazing and very successful time for Cinema Bizarre. We played about 30 shows in 12 different countries and I won't forget all those faces that seemed to enjoy our show.
Thank you to everyone that came to see us, thanks to our crew and the poeple that followed us. That was the best time of the year for us, we owe that to you for making it possible.

This Friday, November the 27th, our last single from "TOYZ"/"BANG!" is going to be released.
For those who don't have the album yet, I try to describe "MY OBSESSION".
The first ballad that we are releasing as a single is a piano-driven song that ends up as a rock ballad. It's an ode to all the ballads.
Do you know that one moment when you love someone and everything seems eternal, because you forget, time, administration, your ego? All that matters these few seconds is the moment itself.
Sometimes I think love is an illusion, but when those moments happen it gets true.
I tried to captivate that feeling that passes so fast in one song. That song ended up as "MY OBSESSION".

For sure it might describe the way how I love someone. But I don't want to tell you much about the lyrics, everyone is making their own experiences, is seeing different pictures and is following their own voices. So you should also see your own story in "MY OBSESSION".

There are two version of the music video that were both shot during our tour this spring in the USA. You see a lot of scenes in New York, San Francisco and the Performance was captured during our concert at House of Blues in Chicago. It was an unusual shoot for us - there was no make up artist, no set, no story. Just the 5 of us and a camera.
We had our idea of the music video and our record company had their own imagination of how the motion picture should look like. The result of that discussion were that we produced two music video.
I leave it to you to decide which version you like the most.
Both can be seen as moving photograph albums of this autumn's US tour.

" the truth of betrayal from a diseased heart.
yesterday i got into a fight with hannes in the hotel's elevator after the show. he ended up throwing me and i hit my head. he got angry and then the manager went in to talk to him to the hotel room that i paid for. my boyfriend never came out to check on how i was and he changed ever since the manager spoke to him. i argued with the manager for over an hour and he wanted me to leave and not speak to my boyfriend while i'm in a public 'hotel' that they barely paid for and i was allowed to be there. i ended up hitting the manager and one of the workers that was over to party ended up grabbing me by my hair and pulling me to the elevator. he slammed my head in nonstop into the elevator and kept hitting me while i was on the ground. when i finally ran to see my boyfriend, he didn't want to speak to me and just ignored me when i told him what happened. that they kept hitting me. i left him things he gave me and then i got arrested. before i got arrested, i sat in the hallway screaming for him and while i was being hit. he never came out. everyone else ignored me. i could have died and he wouldn't have cared.
when the police came, i begged for them to speak to him and see me. at least speak for me.
they went to go see him and he pretended as if he didn't know me and wanted nothing to do with me.
so i went with the police and went to the station. everyone felt like crying for me there and they took me to a hotel. i went to the hotel with bruises and cut marks all over my body. i had a cigarette with the policewoman and it comforted me and made my heart cry at the same time when she told me that my boyfriend was scum just like the rest of the worthless men and people in this world. that i deserve better.
as much as i still ignore it and wish i could go back to berlin just to be with him...
i can't. not this time. this is unforgivable. i shouted my helplessness to him and he fed me to them.
he betrayed me.
he left me in warsaw without knowing if i was fine or bothering to contact me where i was.

this is where i leave him.

i believed in him and i loved him and i was wrong to.
i'm now with family in warsaw, i'm forbidden to see him again as i also forbid myself.
if i thought about it without just remembering what had happened, i would kill myself.
i would do so because he was all i wanted, all i wished for, and nothing else in my life meant more than he did to me. i tried as much as i could and gave him as much as i could.
in the end, he is a selfish and filthy person that cannot hold my heart ever again.
i'm ashamed for wasting my time with him. i should have never accepted him.
i will not be coming back to berlin.
he betrayed me and i know one day he'll relize his mistake. i do not love him anymore, nor do i care for him. if i could ask a favor from you, could you please tell him to do what he wants to do with my things, i don't need them anymore. i left his jackets somewhere for good and anything of his i'm throwing away.
i wish there were people with a heart... because i don't know where mine is anymore."

after all the trouble its time for me to say something about what happened.

first of all, i never hit her or hurted her physically.
i can tell that not everything shes writing is the truth.
i dont wanna call her a liar, but her words are not all true.
its not my option to explain what exactly happened or why everything went out like this.
neither am im going to call her bad or will tell something about her.
humans are humans!
i increases my phonebill this day again for many hundred euros by taking care of her thru her parents/police/and other people.

You are not for the first time in Moscow. How do you feel here in this time?
- Well we saw a snow in Moscow for the first time, we come here for the 3d time, the weather is cold, but we like it, it’s great!

How would you bring out your style?
- It’s not easy to do, because each of us likes something own in the music and in the clothes. Everything is mixed here, in Cinema Bizarre and as a result you can see and listen to in the group.

What ‘s the meaning of the title of the group?
- We decided chose such title, because when people look at us, they think we are strange. Usually such oddity is not so good, and we wanted to give a positive meaning to it, so we found in the Internet that in the 70s there was a style, it’s name was bizarre cinema - for indication of non mainstream movies.And we thought, that here is the word-combination, which is very suitable for us , because by our music we want to set up shows and emotions like in movies.

Where do you prefer to give concerts most of all? At the stadiums? At the clubs?
- We like to play in clubs most of all, because there is more intimate atmosphere there, you even feel the energy of fans.

Do you have a favorite country, city, where you like to play most of all?
- Oh, we like to play everywhere, travelling - is great, super! The cities I like most of all are: Paris, New Yourk, Berlin, of course, because it’s our native town, in Moscow also, it’s very cool here))

There is no doubt, you’re tortured by this question : you are considered by journalists to be the second Tokio Hotel. Do you know each other personally? Do you communicate with?
- Yes, lots of people firstly compared us with each other, because we are two unusual groups from Germany , but there are many people, who influenced on us, the different music , we look like similar, but it’s not the same as Tokio Hotel, we are different.

What about some phrases in Russian? Did you learn something?
- Kiro: privet, menya zovut Kiro/kak dela?Ya khochu vodki seychas/ spasiba

B: Hi, Strify, what’s up?
Strify: Fine! And you?

B: OK! Our congratulations to you with the release of the second album. And,there is a question to you at once: weren’t you afraid, that among a lot of groups the first album is often much more better than the second one?
Strify: On the threshold of the release of the second album we were more nervous, than on the threshold of the release of the first one. We expected absolutely any reaction, but as a result, everything was in the best way.

B: The music of Cinema Bizarre develops together with the group. Didn’t you have a crafty plan, for example, “today we follow this way, tomorrow that way and the day after tomorrow we will begin playing funk or disco”?
Strify: Well, yes, our music keeps on developing with every day and every album. If you listen to the first and the second albums, there will be evident difference. I think, we will keep on our bold experiments.

B: In the USA there also was the release of your album, wasn’t it?
Strify: Yes, it’s very interesting mix of tracks from both albums.

B: How did the American audience meet the album? With the European one is clear as noondayJ
Strify: Unfortunately, it was put up for sale recently at all, and that’s why I can’t tell you exactly, if it was met well or not. Nevertheless, I hope to get good news.

B: Let’s talk about Russia. You have been to our country not for the first time, haven’t you?
Strify: Aha, we gave here 5 concerts.

B: What do you think about Russian audience?
Strify: The audience is absolutely incredible! People have such a wild energy. Every time, when we play concerts, it’s a great pleasure for all of the members of the group. We enjoy every minute on the stage.

B: Are our fans much louder than in another countries?
Strify: Yes, much louder, I think! During our concerts their good mood just brims over, that’s why there is too much noise! (laughing)

B: What about Russian girls?
Strify: Well…

B: Only honestly!
Strify: They are super. They have incredible resplendent smiles.

B: At our editor’s office one funny tradition appeared: we like to ask different groups about the dish, which they tasted in Russia. What dish of Russian national cuisine did you like most of all?
Strify: Last time we were in Krasnodar and tasted a sort of the dish, its name, unfortunately, I don’t remember. I think, it was okroshka. Is there such dish?

B: Yes, there is! We are glad, that you liked it. Listen, recently we found in the internet combined pic with you and Miyavi. You are great fan of him, aren’t you?
Strify: Yes, it’s true.

B: Except Miyavi, whom of the Japanese musicians do you like?
Strify: (without hesitation) I love so much Dir en Grey, D’espairs Ray, also I like L’Arc - en - Ciel very much. I mean, I don’t concentrate on something one. It develops taste and it’s very useful for our music.
