Strify woke up in a cold sweat. He'd had that same nightmare again. It had haunted him for months. He opened his eyes to see Yu sat on the end of his bed, looking worried.
“What are you doing?” Strify asked, wiping his sweaty brow.
“You got me really worried.” Yu replied simply. “Are you sick?”
“No.” said Strify, sitting up. “I’m fine.”
“You don’t look it.” said Yu.
“Well, I am. I’m fine. Is there something you wanted?”
“Just to know that you’re okay.”
“Well, now you know.”
Yu took the hint and left the room sulkily. Strify held his head in his hands, deep in thought. Luminor was crying. He was sick, and his ribs showed through his pale skin. The nurses tried to feed him but he threw it back up again. Then there was a white sheet coving his lifeless body…
Strify tugged on his hair hard. How could he even think like that?
He reached across for his phone and flicked through his texts.

“I’m fine, doing well. Hope you guys are all doing well too. Hope to see you soon! Lumi - x”

See? Strify told himself silently. He’s fine. He said so himself. But what if he wasn’t fine? What if he was pretending to make himself feel better? Strify threw his phone across the room and it hit the door. The door creaked open.

“What are you doing?” Kiro asked, and then he noticed the tears that ran down Strify’s face. “Sorry.” He said, sympathetically. “Are you okay?” Stupid question.
“Yes. I’m fine.” Strify sniffed.
Strify hardly ever cried. The only times Kiro had ever seen him cry had been when the old lady died in “Titanic” and when Luminor had to go to hospital. But everyone had cried then. Kiro shook the memory and sat down on Strify’s bed.
He reached over and hugged his friend. Strify started crying again.
“You think he’s okay, Kiro?” he sobbed.
“I’m sure of it.” Replied Kiro, planting a kiss on Strify’s cheek.
“But what if he’s not?”
“He’ll be fine. Don’t cloud your mind with it.”
“Okay.” Said Strify, breaking up the hug.
“Okay. You want to get dressed?” Kiro asked him.
“No.” said Strify gloomily. “But that doesn’t matter. I have to, don’t I?”
“Unless you want to cancel the concert tonight.”
“No, no. the fans come first. I’m just being stupid. Ignore me.” Strify said, swinging his legs over the side of his bed.
“Right.” Kiro nodded.
